  • Did you know that drugs effect the brain and body differently? Drugs like alcohol, some painkillers and prescription medication such as Diazepam and Xanax will slow you down, cause slurred speech, cause you to be unsteady on your feet and in extreme cases slow your heart rate down so much that it becomes difficult to breathe.

  • Drugs like Ecstasy and Cocaine will speed up your heart rate, increase brain activity and raise your body temperature. In some cases this can cause people to become scared and have panic attacks. In extreme cases they can cause heart attacks and other serious medical complications.

  • Did you know that taking more than one drug at a time significantly increases the risk of of needing medical help and increases the chances of overdose?

  • It is important to know if you or your mates have taken any drugs or alcohol and feel unwell, scared, or in pain to call 999 and ask for an ambulance. Remember to stay with your friend until the ambulance arrives.

  • Did you know you will NOT get in to trouble with the police if you call an ambulance for you or your mates when drugs have been taken. It is important that you seek medical attention in an emergency?
